My children are among those who consistently use this crosswalk. It is not safe in its current state. Please add the requested changes.

My 12-year-old walks to school daily on her own, crossing this intersection. I warn her every single day to look both ways and make sure no cars/bikes are about to turn the corner. This intersection keeps me up at night. It's so dangerous and thus far, DOT has shown absolutely no interest in making it any safer, which is unbelievable, given the regular high-profile cyclist and pedestrian deaths in New York City. Protect those who are most vulnerable: pedestrians and cyclists!

My nieces live by this corner and drivers are always speeding around the corner and failing to yield to pedestrians. The street needs a better design to make pedestrians safer.

As a owner in the neighborhood for over 14 years, I can attest this intersection has always been an issue. While DOT has done some signing to promote safer interactions between pedestrians and drivers, it has not been enough. Additional traffic modifications are needed. I support this petition.
