Growing up in Charlton and not having this type of event EVER, (apart from last year), it would be a shame to see this get the flick! Now, from the outside looking in it seems to bring a bit of a buzz to the town, knowing people who volunteered to work out there clearing the rubbish and everything, it was a hell of a job but no doubt had a great benefit to the community and clubs of Charlton! Not to mention how much this event will bring to the towns money intake.. to read that $2,100,000 was injected into Charlton businesses last year is astonishing! An on going event once a year bringing that into town.. Has my vote to keep it !

Don't understand why Charlton wouldn't want the revenue created by this event

I don't understand why something that would be so beneficial to a countrytown has to try there hardest just to get the green light,

Please keep the festival in this community. There's enough struggles in these areas as there is.

Please consider the lost revenue for this township and allow them to prosper after devastating drought and floods.

Keep Maitreya Festival at Wooroonook. The community needs it for the town.

This event is crucial for the economic survival of our town. I grew up in wooroonook and our family farm is still there....the lakes are our heritage and have never looked better, this is due to the money injection from the festival. Change your decision!!!!!!!!

This is a no-brainer. The town, still recovering from flood and drought, need this for their economic survival. All risk can be mitigated. Listen to the community. Look for a way TO facilitate, not an excuse to deny.

This is a great event for the community, following the devastating floods in January 2011. Residents and Businesses suffered, along with our farming community. It generates income into our town plus surrounding areas. Tolerance, learning and understanding can only be beneficial to this great community of Charlton. We all need to work together to make sure this event continues long into the future at Wooroonook

I hope the Buloke Shire Council will consider the increased long term economic benefits that The Maitreya Music Festival will bring to the Charlton & Wooroonook communities & surrounding areas. Need any reassurance, perhaps they should communicate with the Pyrenees Shire Council, for information about the long term economic benefits for the local Communities of Beaufort, Lexton & surrounded Towns who host the Rainbow Serpent Festival.
