I have been saving for this experience for months. This is my first festival and I just wanted to enjoy my birthday with my friends in the beautiful lands of Victoria, exploring music and the land. This government is ruining what is meant to be the best country of land and opportunities.

Maitreya is a huge boost for the city of charlton...why waste money on fighting to keep it away when it brings so much value to the community? This event should be supported by local council as should all events that bring people and income to the area.

Parks Victoria let us use our public land as we see fit. It is not yours to lock up. You decimate tracts of forest that the public do not see. Fair enough. Fine the arse off anyone who leaves rubbish behind. I will be taking rego photos of anyone I see leaving stuff behind that I will pass on. I will be staying back and cleaning anything left behind other than footprints and fond memories along with many others.

Why do this? What a waste of time and money. Let us dance we don't want to harm anyone!

It makes very little sense to take so much potential revenue out of the local community. In addition I don't believe festivals should be given a bad rap just because of a few unfortunate incidents especially at unrelated festivals.

Why would you deny such a beautiful experience for all involved. Shame.
