Beyond the financial benefit to the region, a festival environment provides a safe space for people to enjoy themselves. Contrast the many casualties of the pub culture, and the difference really stands out. Please do not force these events to go underground. As History has shown, prohibition has only one consequence. Managing entertainment to ensure that a safe and productive time is had by all is the only way forward. The council could play a strong part in ensuring future events are run to a national standard, bringing economic growth to the area. The choice is a logical one.

Maitreya is a place for spiritual healing, and thus without it we may choose to rebel... Your choice festival or revolution, don't test us!

Maitreya, is an important event in the area. Apart from allowing a mass group of likeminded individuals a place to meet, connect, let their hair down, and be themselves. It brings an incredible array of artistic talent together. Benefitting the community with more than just financial remuneration. Which brings me to my next point. The financial and social benefits to the community, are incomparable! Small communities thrive on these festivals, as it provides an active, and financial boost to a community that is bereft of both for a large percentage of the year......keep Maitreya! Feel the magic! Reap the rewards.....

Being a communal area where people of all backgrounds come and enjoy the ability to share space...i cant seem to understand why they would not let this go ahead when in our culture as an Australian this is what we are taught to do and believe in since a young age!!

Canceling the permit for Maitreya will damage both the local economy and image, especially after such a successful run last year.

To even consider cancelling Maitreya because of council permits is shortsighted and ignorant.
The local community benefits so much from the event and to place a hold on the amazing culture it brings to Wooronook would be detrimental to their local economy.
Please consider your locality before rushing into spoil the party because of permits.
I truly hope this ridiculous decision is overturned and the council sees the error in their judgement!
Peace and love xx

Such a wonderful event that brings much needed money to a amazing rural community, it would be despicable if it were cancelled.
