The community net benefit is imperative to consider as music and lifestyle culture in Australia is only increasing. Local council need to keep with the Australian music culture and accept progress !

Wouldn't mind a free ticket for signing but also shouldn't be changed or dis allowed because it's a great and friendly festival

Are you people insane? Look at the information in front of you, this festival is a GOOD THING. It brings nothing but prosperity and love to the community. If you just went and saw it with your own eyes you would see how amazing it is. I can not believe the council would try and do this. Its heartbreaking to say the least. I hope you see your mistake and come around because we can all benefit from this incredible festival. Thanks :)

This is a poor decision by the Buloke Council for small businesses and sporting clubs and one the ratepayers need to stand up against it.

Outdoor music and arts festivals constitute a long running and very important role in our community. We are held up to ideals that regularly surpass the behaviour of popular sporting events and have fewer medical or emergency problems than most licensed venues. Using legal channels for moral decisions based on the unresearched fears of a vocal minority is irresponsible at best and destructive at worst and I fear we are heading down the poorer end of this scale. Before attempting to legislate this popular and - believe it or not - safe and family friendly event into illegality I would ask you to consider 2 things: Have you ever participated in or witness an event of this kind to know the truth of it? And Do you honestly believe that being told 'no' will stop us?

I felt maitreya was all in all a good positive event to have occur in such a rural town both for the community, local businesses and for the event itself as it is host to such a beautiful landscape, it would be a shame to see it not continue in 2016.

As a regular attendee, employee and photographer at many festivals just like Maitreya, and seeing the positive financial impact on the community and surrounding areas, and the joy and life that can be experienced at these festivals, I think it's horrible that the council has rejected them.
