The financial significance of these events for rural communities cannot be overlooked. Every year they bring a flood to local business.
The attendees are environmentally concious and are aware of what it takes to attend a celebration responsibily.
Do not deprive the multiple surrounding towns the eceonic and cultural boost that is sorely needed.

I hate doof music but I love festivals! Festivals like this pay artists and left-of-field builders (like myself) to create unique artworks and structures. Skills and experience I have aquired through my work at festies translates into saleable skills in the 'default' world which benefits the wider community as a whole.

It's a disgrace that a council would even consider taking away what is a great injection for the economy of a rural country town. Music festivals are fantastic for new and exciting talents to get recognised and it shows that those running our councils are far behind their times and work on misguided and false beliefs.

These festivals are beautiful things, and a necessary reaction to the lack of connection and community we face in this new digital world.

Would be a huge blow to the local business and community if Maitreya was canceled or moved. The lake is an amazing place to hold a festival like this and I would live to see it return for many years to come.

With the right support and participation, maitreya can have a powerful influence on australias youth and act as a strong representation of our culture for foreign travelers.
I sincerely hope that we are given the chance again this year to make maitreya another powerful experience for many.
With gratitude,
Joshua baldwin.

Maitreya festival has been one of a kind..and charlton hosting the event last year was amazing..the location is amazing.
Moreover what such an events does to the community in general is much greater than just a party..because of maitrey i now know about charlton and i happen to send couple of weekend there because of maitreya.
It is sad to see council not allowing a major event such as maitreya to take place on their local land..
Donation is given to the council generously , moreover it is just beneficial to the community as such..the amout of revenue that is going to come in over 3 years is quite massive..this money can be used to develop the area.
Dont shut it down just becasue some council members is sitting there and shaking his head No!!
Its not about one person..its about us ..we are family members of maitreya..
