It’s unacceptable that art would be cut! All sports require close interaction whereas art can easily be done from an appropriate distance. I would expect any cut to be temporary so cut something that the kids shouldn’t be doing this year anyway!

Art is what gets many students through the day,week,month, year. It is a way to release all toxins and clear your mind. CHILDREN NEED ART, ESPECIALLY NOW!!

It is widely recognized that art plays a valuable role in mental health. It can help to boost confidence, engagement and resiliency. Besides these benefits, art engagement also alleviates anxiety, depression and stress. I can not believe we are even having a discussion about decreasing the level of art our children will be experiencing in their weekly school schedule.

Mrs. Devita is an amazing and engaging teacher. Art is a very important part of a child’s curriculum, teaching them to think and create without judgment or pressure. This program cannot be cut.

Art in elementary school education is integral to social emotional learning. It enables children to express themselves as they process the world around them, it gives them an opportunity to decompress from the stresses of academics, and helps them develop the ability to sustain attention as they design and complete their own projects. Budgets matter -- so does the quality of our schools!
