It is imperative that the integrity of LACCD Child Devgelopment lab School be upheld and maintained as a vital connection for students and our youngest learners.

I stand for the support of our Child Development Center (CDC) Lab Schools. They should remain as faculty and not changed as classified. This will affect so many of our current faculty.

In an era in which we are working to raise the standards of all ECE professionals, we should never reduce the educational requirements for those instructors training the work force to educate our youngest, often very vulnerable children and their parents.

The faculty assigned to the Child Development Centers work with students and parents who are seeking increased knowledge in the field of Child Development . They are college instructors, and as such, must have the minimum qualifications and degrees to teach in the field.

For the ongoing development of our children, we need to keep the integrity of the Child Development Centers of Los Angeles Community Colleges intact.

I am a current student at West Los Angeles College and also a Child Development major. The Child Development Lab School at WLA has provided me and countless other students the opportunity to learn and do our practicum hours in a setting that provides the support needed to achieve our goals and become future educators. I agree with Patty Franco's statement "High quality Early Childhood Education requires higher qualifications. The lab schools and teachers are role models to our future teachers it is important that we keep these qualified teachers with the pay that all educators deserve!".

This is an amazing program that my child and I benefit . She learn I lot.
