ELAC CDC has such an amazing, skilled and caring group of teachers and staff. To compromise the standards of this program is a huge disservice to the families, the children that the CDC serves. Please do the right thing and support the existing staff and teachers.

Please protect academic rigor for a discipline that protects the next generation of our society! This responsibility is on your watch!

The teachers and support staff at ELAC Child Developement center are dedicated and talented individuals that serve a broad community of children. Please support them!

YOU CAN NOT DOWN SIZE A TEACHING CENTER. IT’S LIKE SAYING; THEY SHOULD DOWN SIZE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF DOCTORS AND PAY THEM LESS TO GIVE YOU PROPER CARE or DOWN SIZE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF AN AUTO MECHANIC TO FIX YOUR CAR. THESE INSTRUCTORS ARE WORKING WITH YOUND ADULTS TO WORK WITH CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 5 WHEN THESE YOUNG ADULTS, SOME HAVEN’T THE SLIGHTEST CLUE ABOUT WHAT IT’S LIKE TO DEAL WITH A CHILD 6-8 HRS A DAY, 5 DAYS A WEEK. THIS SCHOOL, WITH THE HIGHEST QUALIFICATIONS AND GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEACH THESE YOUNG FUTURE TEACHERS IS CRUCIAL. WITHOUT PROPER TEACHING, WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE ARE SENDING OUT TO THE WORLD AND IT WILL SAY PLENTY ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS AT THE CENTER AND AT THE COLLEGE. REALLY THINK ABOUT WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE YOU ARE SENDING WHEN IT COMES TO EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EARNINGS AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, HOW WE ENOCURAGE, REDIRECT, AND EDUCATE THESE KIDS UNDER THE AGE OF 5. THE FIRST FIVE YEARS OF THEIR GROWTH IS HIGHLY IMPORTANT AND WE NEED INSTRUCTORS TO HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS TO TEACH. THEY DESERVE A PAY RATE TO MATCH THEIR QUALIFICATIONS, IF NOT MORE!

I can not express my level of support for this center. The staff are professionals who make children feel safe, challenged, and learning fun. This center is a gem in the community.

This would be wonderful for children to benefit from.

The LACCD Child Development Lab Schools serve as exemplary models while operating with the best practice programs for the children and families in the community. We can agree that children deserve the best education that prepares them for life. The high standards maintained for training teachers and directors ensure the ideal program. Compromising qualifications will only compromise the benefit to children and families. The education the children are receiving holds lifelong benefit to each child, parent, and college student. The programs are the benchmark of child development centers; please maintain the programs with the same excellent principles. Societal benefits far outweigh the impact of the cost. Excellent teachers have been trained and therefor should be paid accordingly.

Lowering qualifications will decrease the quality of the program!

We can not continue to put our children at risk due to the lack of knowledge people have about the importance of quailty early ed.

The centers do an incredible job exposing children to valuable experiences and activities!

we are Early childhood Educators and therefore we teach children, parents and mentor future teachers to thrive on their future careers and academic success.

My daughter spent 2 years as a student at the Child Development center. She is doing amazing in school due to the incredible experience she received from the teachers at the Center. They are not babysitters, they are teachers and should be acknowledged and paid as teachers.

As the father of a former LATTC, CDC student, I would like to vouch for the work that they do on a daily basis. My daughter spent 3 years under their care and was ready for the challenges of preschool and beyond. I'm not talking about a day care program, I am talking about an educational pathway to elementary school that teaches social, educational, developmental and every other "al's that young people need to successfully navigate the world of K - 12 that they are preparing for. Please do not diminish the work these wonderful faculty members are doing by allowing less qualified people do this work. If we "bargain shop" the people who are teaching the youngest members of the next generation, aren't we also short changing everyone's future? Lets vote for a brighter future for everyone by continuing to provide the best possible service to our youngest students, keep the certificated, tenured faculty members in the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Child Development Center!

It is crucial to support the teachers at the child development centers. Young children are the future. They deserve the best qualified teachers available!!

The CDC Lab is vital to students and families it serves.

Every child in our community deserves a head start in their educational journey.
