Maintain Status Quo - Dog Owners Against Proposed Leashing on Hiking Trails by USFS

Please leave open one of the few areas dogs are allowed off leash. Punish irresponsible owners, not everyone.

I have a neck issue and have a hard time exercising my dog when attached to a leash. In all of my experience dogs are much more social and well behaved off leash than they are when tugging while leashed.

Stop messing with those trails. I was hiking just the other day with a friend and his two dogs. We had no problems at all. This is ridiculous.

I have hiked here many years, an never once experienced an unruly, or out of control animal. Please keep this an option for responsible pet owners.

I live in an apartment with my dogs. Hiking in the Cheyenne Canyon keeps us all happy; it is a treat for them to have the freedom to run around and be a normal dog, and seeing them so happy encourages me to get out more with them and be active. A leash requirement would discourage me from hiking at all.

I think dogs should be aloud off of there leash because its a dog park!!

Dog, and their relatives bear, coyote and fox all ran free on the land before people. Why take that freedom away? Keep complainers off the trails, and let the dogs run free!

We need more leash free hiking trails that have water access for hot summer days.

You are making it impossible for us to exercise our dogs properly. Dogs need room to run and they can't do it on leash.

Since the Bear Creek Basin is the apparent big concern, it was admitted by Doug Kreiger, Colorado Parks and Wildlife that the wild population has remained stable since they first started taking a count, which was in 2008. Their were 750 then and there are 750 today. In the fish hatcheries there are now 3,500, compared to 0 in 2008. So it's not the fish. "Some people are afraid of dogs off leash" - Apparently not enough to hike on other trails, most of which have leash laws. These few trails are the only trails where our dogs can have freedom to run. Let those "afraid," hike on trails with leash laws. Don't lessen the freedom of the thousands upon thousands of owners legally hiking with off-leash dogs on these hiking trails. They should be more afraid of bear, mountain lion, and other hikers legally openly carrying firearms on recreational hiking trails where there are families with children. Hikers with their "off-leash" dogs will stress out the wildlife" - The US Forest Service permits the hunting and killing of wildlife in Pike National Forest. People hiking with their children, motor-bikers with their noisy fast moving motorized vehicles all stress wildlife, yet there is no prohibition against them.

Please don't waste resources solving a non-existant problem.

Please allow responsible dog owners to continue to hike with our dogs off leash here! There are many other places in the city where dogs are required to be on leash!

In appropriate locations dogs SHOULD be able to run off lead in proximity of their owners

I would like the dogs to be able to run with their owners without a leash!

Dogs can be controlled well without a leash.
