How unfortunate that Sullivan County Board of Education wants to potentially ruin something that is already flourishing. Hope that it can remain the same, because it seems to be a wonderful opportunity for homeschool families who may want something different than traditional schools. Hope they change their minds!

Our nephew Benjamin has been attending this amazing school and we greatly hope he can continue his academics there. I truly hope the individuals who are going to decide the fate of this school take what is best for the students and their education before doing what is "politically correct". As a teacher myself, I know the value of a good education and it seems this hands-ones school is paving the way for providing such a future.

Messing with this school would completely ruin the intent of the program. Doing this kind of merging is nothing more than taking all of the things that make this school special and giving it to another school where all they will do is take their equipment.

My son start at IA as a 6th grader this past year. He has truly enjoyed and I see his interest and knowldege in a variety of subjects grow trmendously as a result of this program which I attirubute in large part to the current teachers and leaderhsip at the school. I am very disappointed that the Sullivan county BOE would make the decisions that compromise the long term viability of such a great program so early in its inception, and apprently make such a decision with essentialy no engagement/feedback from the current IA staff, students, or parents.

I feel that the Innovation Academy of NE Tennessee provided my grandson with a great eduation. He was very enthusiastic when he talked about his classes.

I think the School Board needs to rethink their reasoning on this.

I think that Innovation Academy should find the money to stay at Brookside Elementry School. I would like for it to stay because this has been a very helpful opportunity for all of the students here. Thank you for having this school for at least 2 years.

My family, along with my daughter who will be in 6th grade next year, toured the Brookside IA facility during their open house and were thrilled to see the enthusiasm of the students helping with the event. The teachers were also excited with what IA academy was doing. After the tour, we signed up our daughter to attend next year. Now, it seems the carpet has been pulled right out from under us. Nothing we were told seems to be the truth and we feel betrayed, as do several other families with children at Rock Springs Elementary who were also among those touring at Brookside. And now, most or all of them have concluded that we will not be sending our children to Holston and the “shared” facility there. If there is a chance that this decision can be reversed by upcoming rulings by Battelle and the TN Dept. of Education, numerous families would also reverse their decisions and allow their children to attend IA in the current facility.

As a parent of a 4th grader, we were already looking toward IA as an option for middle school. Now, we are not so sure. Even without the details behind the board's decision, we can't see how this move can be a good thing. We just hope that this decision does not run a good thing into the ground. In my opinion, Sullivan county needs to keep STEM. I will not send either of my kids to Highschool with 2,000 students.

Our grandson has thrived through the intellectual challenges and scholarly discipline of IA. Please don't let the high quality of this program (and perhaps its very existence) be threatened by political expediency.
