Alnwick have NO sporting facilities for the local community as a whole, ranging from juniors to veterans. How is the North East coming to find out Olympic starts of the future? It is a disgrace.

These facilities are essential to support sport for our young people. this needs to be a priority to support their physical and mental well being. Afult learning also needs to be supported and provides opportunity and enrichment to local adults.

Agree totally this site should be preserved for education especially in the short term until DCHS is finalised and can accommodate all our young people at the level they deserve.

This facility is a life line to so many in our community. It is used by a vast range of ages and for many different events other than education.
Thanks for the comment - We agree ...we are campaigning to ensure that Alnwick has the sports and further education facilities it deserves. Hockey, tennis, rugby and running are all now affected by broken promises either within the town or at the new DCHS. We need to keep these facilities until suitable and affordable replacements are found for all clubs. Where are the new residents in all of these new houses in the town going to exercise and learn new skills ?
Chloe - Thanks for the message. Please can you contact us on email address [email protected] with contact details for your group leader as we would like to meet.

The sports hall is a vital facility which our children use on a regular basis. Sports facilities should be encouraged, not threatened with closure. We need to promote healthy living. Save this sports hall.

The sports hall and adult education centre are vital facilities for the community. Without the use of the sports hall our children lose the base of their local Harriers running club. Surely a fantastic club like this, which promotes our children to be fit and healthy in a fun and sociable setting, needs to be supported. Do not allow this facility to be removed without providing suitable alternative facilities.

This hall is essential to so many people so there should be no question of it's closure. Well done to all those working hard to save it- thank you so much!

Facilities of this kind provide children with a safe environment to exercise and learn discipline through sport.

These facilities are vital for the physical and mental health of people of all ages. It is inconceivable that they could close without a replacement being found. Surely someone is accountable for this!!

All the community and wider area need access to these affordable facilities. There are no other running facilities North of Morpeth.
