In a time where funds are tight it seems like madness to close a well used facility that promotes physical and mental wellbeing which in turn should reduce pressure on health services by reducing obesity, mental health issues etc.

My kids wouldn't have done any sport without Linda's far enough to train

We need to not only develop and build new facilities, but to keep and maintain the few current ones we have. How are we able to introduce, play and compete at any sporting level if we don't have any sporting facilities in the town. We were promised an AstroTurf pitch back in 2009 when the new plans for a new school were being discussed! Still waiting!

This building has a good variety of
facilities. Some groups will find it difficult to find alternative premises

It is madness to be closing a facility like this. The Local Authority should be doing all they can to keep facilities that improve the health and well-being of the community.

To lose any facilities in an area so under provided for would be a disgrace, in an era where obesity is a huge concern I'm dismayed that an organisation whose primary objective is to serve the needs of its community would even consider scrapping such a valuabe asset

I don't remember this facility would be lost with the closing of the school. The space is vital.

We shouldn't need to fight to keep open a vital facility in an expanding town.

This has to be stopped. As a town Alnwick has few enough facilites , losing the Lindisfarne Sports Hall would be madness and truly unfair.

Health and fitness should be encouraged, we need this facility...not more houses.

The health of our community could not be more important right now. Everyone I know in Alnwick has used or is using this centre, including lots of children. Alnwick needs it.

I feel very strongly about this and think it would be dreadful to lose such a facility.

Appalling that closure of this facility should even be considered by the authority. In a time of planned austerity by the government it is vital that the people of Alnwick and the surrounding districts should not be penalised by our own councillors.
