I feel like this sums up my son's experience of mainstream. If there is to be a presumption of mainstream for asn children, this presumption shouldn't lead to the notion that their additional support needs disappear. By all means, include the children in mainstream but ensure that proper additional support is provided to meet their needs. If asn staff are decreasing, is that because of an equal decrease in the number of asn children or because you are now providing for that equal number outwith mainstream?

Mainstream school is not meeting the needs of Autistic children or young people. They should be in units/schools designed to meet their educational needs and have a structure to support them. Mainstream is not equipped to handle it
