Children with special needs need specific care, and should not be denied it.!!!!

I am all for integrating children where possible into mainstream school but it is clear in some cases this is not always possible and our children are being badly let down by the very system supposed to be there to support them. This is clearly all about saving money and is an absolute disgrace and disservice to our children.

All children should have the chance to be educated at their own pace and in their own way even if it's different as most ASD kids are.

More education commitment and acknowledgement for kids with autism

Every child, regardless of intelligence or ability, deserves a safe, educating environment!

I am a primary school teacher and I have had to teach autistic children within mainstream yet I have had no training. It is not fair on the autistic children. They deserve better.

I have 2 children on the autism spectrum and feel there is not enough being done by the education department to ensure their needs are met. You wouldn't tell someone in a wheelchair to get up and walk because they have different needs or to adapt to their environment so don't expect someone with autism to adapt either

As a parent of an asd child I am living this everyday with my child. The education system is failing my son.

I totally agree more teachers and more money need to be out into place to many kids are falling through the net

As an autistic individual that attended a mainstream school, they failed me. I received little to no support or empathy. They had no idea I was k need of help because I wasn't violent aggressive or misbehaving. Serious lack of knowledge and resources as well as staff and this needs to change

These kids should have the proper schooling and not be at mainstream schools

I agree with this wholeheartedly. The children with ASN in mainstream need & deserve way more support/time/money than they currently get. The teachers also need to be given ongoing training. Inclusion should mean that with the right support, it could be the ideal setting for some kids, but instead most just fall through the cracks, unsupported, leading to many other associated problems.

Disgusting the way autistic children are being forced into a mainstream setting when clearly they can't cope with it!!
