I am currently at this school however I cannot give my name for fear of being told off for voicing my opinion. On a positive I have some awesome teachers who go out of their way to support and help us and I tell them how much I appreciate them. Dispite it being an "outstanding" school, I know at least five teachers are leaving at Christmas.... Why leave an outstanding school? Actually its because its not outstanding. I believe the school has potential to be outstanding but they focus on too many trivial things and punish us for really no good reason eg does it really matter if our ruler is 30cm (the one Magna sells is only 15...what's that all about ?) But this is about well-being so; I am concerned about myself and my friends getting too stressed with so many rules, you can do nothing right. There is always a worry that you will get picked on for a rule that was non existent the day before. This causes us misery. There are some teachers who do not give us the respect we have the decency to give them. I have witnessed teachers shouting right in a student's face whilst others have shouted at staff who are just trying to do their job. Some teachers talk to students who don't understand in a way indicating they are stupid and dispite our "flight path stickers" attempting to show what we are expected to achieve, some of the teachers don't believe we can achieve this for example, one teacher came into a set one class asking for grade boundaries for her set three students and didn't ask for anything above a C because she didn't believe any of them could achieve this when actually some did. How are students suppose to have confidence in themselves when staff don't believe in them ?

The school does not behave appropriately in many instances and many improvements need to be addressed. Sadly it is run as a business and student well being and happiness is not high on the list of priorities. In the time my daughter has been there she has seen many students leave due to dissatisfaction at the way in which the school is run and the miserable way the students are encouraged to act. Bullying is viewed in various forms such as a staff member being told off or spoken too inappropriately in front of students to students themselves behaving badly. My daughter experienced bullying from a child but thankfully my daughter had courage to ignore her at Magna and had supportive friends which made her life easier but it didn't stop the girl from picking on someone else and trying to get my daughter in trouble with lies. She clearly thought she could get away with it as her mother at the time had influence in the school but thankfully it all turned out OK as she eventually left. During this period however, the students involved did receive support from some teachers but not the ones who were supposed to but on the whole in general the procedures did not support the victim and her friends instead siding with the bully due to her connection causing huge upset to the students involved as they were treated unfairly. A good example where definite procedures should have been followed and proper support given to help the victims.

Magna academy is pathetic! I nearly got pushed down the stairs by year 11's when I was in year 10, the school did nothing but let me leave early and said it would be okay the next day, it came to the point I kept crying and was so scared to go in, after a while it stopped... But still magma academy take the mick, being in year 11 we have to stay till 4 and they expect us to stay for intervention which I live in park stone area so won't be home until gone 7 cause I walk home!!! They even expect us to do 2 pages of homework in every lesson, as for the teachers leaving it's pathetic ( don't blame them really) if magna teach us in lesson properly why do we need to stay in the weekend or after school? They even want us in in the Christmas holiday, no way!!

You should mention this to ofsted as its an outrageous situation you have all been put through by the SLT of magna. They have been getting away with this for far too long

I moved my daughter out of Magna just over a year ago. I thought her bad treatment by SLT was just a series of unfortunate incidents but reading the comments here clearly I was wrong. My daughter was bullied by another child, the school failed to carry out an investigation into the bullying in accordance with their anti bullying policy. I was sent emails from a member of SLT saying they refused to investigate my allegations. My well behaved, studious, hardworking daughter was told she was not allowed to look at the bully. When she allegedly did she was hauled out of lessons by SLT and told off. We asked what qualifications the staff had to interpret whether a look was intended as negative or not but they didn't respond. After many upsetting incidents we put in a formal complaint. The school, in accordance with their complaint's policy, should have investigated our complaint but failed to do so. Richard Tutt clearly had no idea how a complaint's panel should be run, expecting us to leave the room while he gave some of his evidence. The panel, in accordance with DfE guidelines, should have had a layperson on it. It didn't there were two governors and a senior member of staff of the academy trust. During both the bullying allegations and complaint the school never spoke to my daughter to ask her what had happened. We realised during the complaint hearing that she would not be safe in Magna. The school we chose to move her to was over subscribed so we had to go through the appeals process. The basis of the appeal was that our daughter had been bullied and the school had not only failed to deal with it but compounded the issue by their bullying tactics. Our appeal was successful so I can only assume that the independent appeals panel were as horrified as we were at her treatment. I wish I had taken the matter further (although I understand the only option was the DfE) but we were all so stressed that I just wanted to leave it all behind us. I really fee

The staff are stressed due to being bullied themselves by SLT and other power hungry individuals and of course they can't speak up as they wont get a good reference when they leave... But, once you teachers have left then please please speak up, even if it's anonymous

My little sisters grades and health have both improved since my dad moved her from that school something needs to be done

Why are all the good teachers leaving?????? My child is so upset that a few of the really helpful and PROFESSIONAL teachers are leaving, and they were only appointed in September.... Doesn't that speak volumes.....???

Why is mt tutt pretending / lying when he says hes mr david martins from slough. We all know its him... And a lie..... So why does he and his SLT team shout at us students and call us liers when we try and explain ourselves in school... Who really is the lier... And he is barefaced lying when he says that the school is perfect that everyone s happy and that all the kids are doing just fine with no problems.... Thats the BIGGIST LIE ever Mr David Martin or whoever you really are! You cant pull the wool over our eyes, we go to the school and our parents know what we are going through. U may pull the wool over the medias eyes... But one day the corruption that gies on in this "school" will be exposed for all to really see. And a BIG thank you to all the fab teachers in the school who some of them are a real support. The bully ones know who they are and i hope you realise how your behaviour is distrupting the whole school. Lets hope more of us are not afraid to speak up!!!

Stress seems to get the better of staff in occasion

Thanks to John for his comment: "Other students should only be making sensible comments as we all feel the same and however angry we all are at being bullied by the SLT it isn't right for us to make silly comments". We all want to support the children in line with the motion as outlined and your comment is both wise and considered and you should be congratulated for it. Perhaps we can give you a positive mark for writing this....

As a student at magna i hope that whoever is in charge of this petition gets some positive results. I think other students should only be making sensible comments as we all feel the same and however angry we all are at being bullied by theSLT it isn't right for us to make silly comments. Let our voice be herd so that the caring adults take our concerns seriously. As far as "mr martin" goes ... This petition is not nonsence, its the truth and the truth obviously hurts!! Also the SLT have been bullying more teachers today. I heard a teacher getting told off for no good reason by an SLT. It's disgusting that they are doing this to the nice teachers who are too frightened to speak out. Also my friends parents went to speak to two of the SLT and the SLT were very very rude to them and would not lusten to the families concerns. One thing i am learning at this school not to be an adult bully and i can see the way not to behave when sn adult as no one on this planet eho is decent liked bullies. I'm not growing up like those men for sure.

People are not scared, just not taking this rubbish seriously.

I'm a very unhappy student stuck at this school. No matter what signs are put up about ofstead the senior leadership are hiding behind, there is a humiliation going on at school. There are some cool teachers but all the cool ones are leaving and foreign supply teachers are being drafted in. They just give us books to read and work from they dont teach or speak much english. A lot of the children feel humiliated and are too frightened to speak up. The school are even renting out the premises to foreign students and getting money from this and treating them better than us magna students. Im not english myself but i can see everything thats going on here and its disrupting my learning and some of my friends too. I don't feel supported here and don't know who to turn to.

Really how did you come to that conclusion.

It is fundamental that this petition remains true to the motion outlined and does not get taken to a place it should not be. Please be respectful of those with clear issues that need addressing. There are many that need support and it must be dealt with in the most practicable way we have at our disposal at this time. It is a shame so many people are scared that it has come to this.

Period 6 is a complete waste of time, I feel for me and for other students to learn they need to be engaged in their lessons. I feel period 6 is over the line and I strongly disagree with the face they must attend interventions after that aswell, disgusted

This is unacceptable. They are still children !
