I totally agree with you barry , but remember we do need a certain amount of discipline in the school with the teenagers of this day and age, but yes, the senior SLT are taking things to the extreme. I do agree that maybe there should be a positive chsnge in the SLT and they should be replaced by teachers who actually care about the children . Children should be made to feel comfortable to talk to the SLT , but its the opposite... Even the 6 th formers are having issues, ...... Its not the appropriate wsy to run a school, you are totally right. And yes, a week in the dessert for those teachers responsible may do them good !!!!!

I have had my son come to me very upset at how he heard children in this school bring talked to. One of his friends told us its like being in a bad dream in magna, like in a dream where you want to run but can't. A child explaining that he feels he can't speak to anyone in the school about his worries at the treatment of the students. Im disgusted with whats been evidently going on in magna. My child has had his friends over telling us how strict it is in magna to the point where the children have to walk on one side of the corridor and when the children want to cross over the corridor to get to their classroom they get screamed at!! It seems like rules and discipline has been taken to extremes by senior SLT one minute laughing with each other outside the school at end of school and in school then turning to the children and screaming at them for riding their bikes with no school tie or not having a red card poking out of their left top pocket.... WE LIVE IN A DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY not a communist society of dictatorship, which is what It seems the SLT are trying to portrait. The children are coming home saying they have had their rights and responsibilities taken away from them. They learn in primary school about their rights and responsibilities.... Yet have them STRIPPED off them in this school to a degrading point. I think management needs a lesson in reality , appropriate leadership and in child care. The name and shame scheme should be against human rights it's disgusting for a school to be doing this. Its degrading and humiliating... Just like what a communist leader would impose to humiliate his society. If they like name and shame... Lets see how they feel when its made public that Mr ADams openly flaunts with his girlfriend in the school in front of the children, then he suddenly turns to children and picks on them for whatever reason he decides....showing off maybe....or maybe he's depressed as he seems an extremely miserable teacher who maybe shouldn'

As an ex-employee of this school, I feel that something needs to be done about the methods being used to 'teach' the students there. Their results are not outstanding compared to national averages; they are exactly that - average. The measures taken during their recent Ofsted ensured the grading they achieved. In fairness they were never going to get anything less considering that they had hosted David Cameron and tick all the Conservative education policy 'boxes'. Richard Tutt had inspirational ideas and his teachers and students are amazing. The lack of compassion shown by most of the senior leadership team for the whole school community means that both staff and students are unhappy, resulting in a high turnover of the former and a growing dissatisfaction in the latter. Happy to give details of my experience to anyone who will listen.

Empasis should be on supported learning, not petty rules and OTT punishments.

More supply teachers yesterday, my son was stopped from going 5 minutes before end of lesson although he has a pass that says he must check blood sugars and get food!! she just said your not going...... he walked out anyway but he shouldnt have to do this. They need their outstanding statues taken away!!

My child will never attend this prison of a school!

We have noticed in other media that some third parties think we are removing content not supporting the motion. Contrary to that, we have only removed elements where bad language and other such elements that could tarnish the clear concerns third parties have in line with the motion of the petition. One other was removed by accident and unfortunately couldn't be reinstated. Denying the exact issues exist or trying to cover those up without any desire to discuss the issues themselves in an open forum is disrespectful for those that wish to speak up but are in fear of doing so. We will continue to do all we can to support those concerned.

This school may shine on paper but it's all at the cost of the child

This school is run like social services, poorly! No real regard for kids wellbeing from those at the top, while the good staff that are there see the devastation it is causing, but their superiors are blind and deaf to it. Had many a parent discuss their complaints with me, I don't think my child will be stepping foot in this dictatorship.

My daughter started at Magna in year 7 this September. I decided to send her to the best performing non grammar school in the south so that she could be guided and taught well in her high school years. My daughter has had all the correct uniform and equipment since her first day but has still had numerous negative experiences at the school already.... Her first negative experience was during a lesson when she wanted to ask to go to the toilet. She was told that she wasn't allowed to ask questions and then got accused of lying by another teacher. Her teacher always shouts at the children, tells them to shut up and has even commented that she doesn't care! Another negative experience of my daughters was getting put in isolation for over two hours as she forgot her planner. In isolation the pupils are expected to complete the work of their original lesson but away from their peers. My daughter wasn't given the work so has now missed out on two lessons worth of work! I'm all for discipline but magna academy cannot even seem to follow their own rules! My daughter is one of many very unhappy children at magna. Please let something be done about this!
