Throughout my 4 years at UVM, I, as a dancer have noticed that there were only few types of dances such as jazz, modern, african forms that are offered at UVM. Those are great but from talking to other students, they have suggested that I should explore my passion and take a step up from my dance experiences and teach other various dances such as Contemporary new school West-central African dances, Afro latin, and Dancehall/reggae. I have received a number of students being interested in these and as i wished i had the opportunity to get credits for dance classes, im taking the initiative of creating this petition to see how many people would be interested in taking dance classes such as these ones that were mentioned above. If there are enough signatures on this, i would take the step and talk to the UVm department and Dance and my other connections and with the Student voice, we can hopefully make this happen.
