During Covid-19 the LAST THING we should be doing is building more (and bigger) slaughterhouses. It is time to stop this horrific suffering, cruelty and degradation of our environment. No slaughterhouses, only greenhouses. Animal Agriculture is literally destroying the planet. Eat a delicious and healthy veggie burger and stop the corruption that is a part of all slaughterhouse business.

Once they build this Madison Food Park slaughterhouse it will be TOO LATE, now is the time to stop it from becoming a reality and all the horrible health issues it will bring with it and the millions of gallons of animal waste pollution that will poison your water supply. Like the article says, "Look BEFORE you leap" . When these huge corporations bamboozle you into getting their way and then ignore all the health and safety rules they promised to follow it's too late. There is a link between animal waste and this COVID19 virus, don't contribute to having it growing in your own backyard .. let this petition speak for you, and SIGN please.

I encourage everyone to learn the facts about the environmental risks to our water, air and land as well as the social impacts of decreased property values, increased crime, difficulty recruiting health care professionals, teachers and other professionals as well as decreased tourism. We all have a vested interest in maintaining the quality, quantity and sustainability of our water and our quality of life. It is my job and your job to make informed responsible decisions.”

I support the City of Great Falls in their request for an impact study related to the proposed Madison Food Park Slaughterhouse. Studies have shown the significant drawbacks and dangers of these types of facilities, not only in the local community, but throughout the region. With the potential environmental devastation, increased health problems, and negative community impacts, this slaughterhouse is not a good choice for Great Falls, or for Montana.

Please do not allow the MFP slaughterhouse to be built outside of Great Falls. The potential for an environmental disaster here is just too high. There is nothing about this proposal that makes sense given the importance of water as a resource in our state for ranching, farming, and tourism.

This Slaughterhouse proposal is a terrible idea. Montana does not need a virus ridden slaughter corporation that would greatly impact the quality of life around Great Falls in many negative ways. The amount of wastewater is astounding as well as the impact on the local aquifer. Please do not do this.

Please make an informed decision and do not pollute our amazing state with this industrial scale slaughterhouse. Montana has many small farms that are much better suited to providing high quality meat to our communities. We should be know as a state who values the small business and our great history of small farms and agriculture.

Montana does not need or want this scale of slaughter facilities. We are far better served by the community sized and operated slaughter facilities, which we do need to to serve our ranchers and farmers and communities across the state. Many new slaughter and packing facilities are being developed around the state and in tribal communities. These are the right scale for Montana and our food system.
