The university has officially approved a formal hooding ceremony for the MAC Class of 2021. We have received confirmation that graduates will now be individually recognized on stage. Final logistics regarding seating and guest policies will be emailed directly to participating students by the program office.

The Class of 2021 has endured many hardships in the pursuit of completing their Master's of Accounting degree. Not only have the graduates successfully completed their degree requirements, but they have also all done so during a global pandemic against insurmountable odds. Graduates became hopeful once NC State announced they would have an in-person commencement ceremony. However, that optimism was deflated once the school announced that graduates would not be individually recognized for their accomplishments since no names will be called and no students will be able to walk. One thing is for certain, and that is that these graduates DESERVE to be individually recognized and applauded by their peers. One way in which this can be accomplished is through a socially distanced hooding ceremony for the 2021 MAC program graduates. Those who sign this petition are in favor of an in-person hooding ceremony to acknowledge the achievements of these graduates. Please support us in celebrating this year's MAC graduates!

Completing a MAC is no easy feat during normal circumstances! Completing one during a pandemic should definitely be safely publicly celebrated! Congratulations to Chariti and her class!
Our fine granddaughter was robbed of her undergraduate graduation. We are coming out of this pandemic - please allow these fine young adults to enjoy at least one college graduation! Come on NC State - step up.
Would love a grad school graduation since our son did not get an undergrad graduation. Just a box that came in the mail 6 months plus after May.
A lot of students have endured tons of mental stress during the last three semesters and although NCSU is trying to be safe by not giving these well-deserving students the recognition they each have worked really hard for, it is not right. I feel that there are ways that can be figured out so that social distancing policies aren’t violated and each and every student that has made this accomplishment receive their accolades!
My son has studied and proven himself in NCSU’s Masters of Accounting program and deserves to be hooded, and publicly recognized by a walking graduation ceremony, where his name is publicly announced.
Please allow students key staff only inside. Streaming for the rest. Require vaccine?
Our grads need a traditional ceremony, they have earned it! They have worked so hard & deserve it.
