City of Mableton - Let the People Vote

Smyrna taxes are prohibitively high.. let's choose self determination

City planning is EVERYTHING. We need a downtown or town square, better parks. It will attract more businesses, restaurants, etc

I am a new physician who just bought my first house in mableton. I want nothing more but to see Mableton flourish. I would consider running for a leadership position.

I tell you what, we need to block the Smyrna Annex! I work in Smyrna and my colleagues complain about the high taxes (elderly and young). The idea of the City of Smyrna wanting to annex in our area is indeed and afterthought, Money!!!!!!! That idea would be a hardship for the elderly and sonme middle class families.

Stop the annexation of smyrna

YES for a better quality of life. Let’s catch up with the rest of Atlanta and make Mableton a destination and even more of a home.

I want much more discussion on pros, cons, and unintended consequences of cityhood.

Absolutely no benefit. HIGHER TAXES. Mableton has worked well for the last 50 years. It is hard enough for older people to pay their taxes now. What do you think will happen if this happens. VOTE NO

I don't see the benefit of incorporating Mableton. All that means is that its tax base will be raised, because all the new mayors, administrators, officers, police, school boards, etc. which a new city needs to set up shop will cost big $$$--through higher property taxes. Right now, as an unincorporated community, we pay 1/2 of the property taxes of Smyrna and incorporated cities. Mableton's tax benefit will be lost when the salaries of the new administrators have to be funded by raising taxes. I vote NO.

This would be great for the new city. The area needs some guidance to help bring in business that we often use. Too many ran down areas on Mableton Pkway and Veterans Memorial Pkway.

No cityhood for Mableton please.
