I think that aftermarket exhausts are a strong part of a great hobby a vast majority of people everywhere Participate In. I don't believe that it should be banned nor limited.

18 wheelers are 10x louder than any aftermarket exhaust I've ever heard so the noise level I think is targeting modified cars. As long as you don't cut all of your catalytic converters out I don't see why axle back, catback, and muffler deleted exhausts are illegal. Front plates are dumb too.

There's no reason to deny exhaust especially if it's CARB compliant.

Hello. Sorry for the language but altered exhaust should be legal for the reason being the different types of laws for exhaust... That being trucks motorcycles and other vehicles. But it's a problem for cars to have a even ( mildly loud ) sounding car....getting so much as a 50$ ticket.....make exhaust legal to a certain decimal in how loud it can be.... Because some exhaust systems I've herd that got pulled over weren't even loud enough to wake a small child from a nap.... A certain decibal in sound is understandable at a higher number...not just by a cop thinking its loud when all you have is a small exhaust leak....which happens without your control.... Exhaust should be able to be loud. To a certain extent

I think this petition is completely reasonable and the laws enforcing them are costly to Massachusetts motorists

My old cars do mot have front plate provisions. I had to drill holes into my car.
We should have an exhaust law with real decibel rating .

I support both aspects to this petition. Aftermarket exhausts are engineered enhance the performance of vehicles, not hinder them. We should be allowed to make choices that are both financially beneficial (Improve car durability & less revenue spent on a mostly useless 2nd plate) and environmentally friendly (Less unnecessary resources spent and wasted on a 2nd plate ). Why prevent residents from making positive decisions on the environment? If other states can function with just one plate being necessary then Massachusetts should be able to do the same with no issues. These are facts backed by years of research and testing, not opinions.
