As per what everyone else has stated:
- needs gates to stop children wondering out and dogs wondering in
- matting around the park equipment, not grass as when it raining, it gets very muddy
- more shaded areas, as when the weather is warm/hot, you’ve got nowhere to hide.
- lighting could be better for darker months of the year

I agree the park is not suitable for use as it stands took my visiting friends kids the other week and it was so wet we had to come home they were so disappointed as they couldn't play in the new park

It's the details that are lacking. Better matting is needed under the equipment to stop it being so muddy. The swings are too difficult to push, there's too much friction. The roundabout doesn't spin well anymore either. The seesaw has been unusable all year due to drainage issues. I have to leave the park if I need to feed my baby as there is nowhere fenced in and safe for my toddler to play while I'm busy. And the numbers on the wheels on the small climbing frame are upside down! They just need to be swapped over! The list goes on.

Lovely park, but needs better facilities (especially for younger ages - my son is nearly 3), better safety/flooring and better maintenance.

The park is not currently fit for purpose.
The drainage is terrible. The grounds are always waterlogged and very muddy, making it impossible to use some of the equipment.
The flooring is not safe. A young children's play park should have a soft rubberised surface to prevent injuries.
The park needs to be enclosed by a fence to help keep children safe. It would also help keep dogs out to prevent it being used as a toilet.
The park was a factor for my family moving to the area and has so far been a big disappointment as we have hardly used it.

We have not been able to use the park recently due to the weather making it water logged and the equipment would benefit from being on rubbery surfaces to be safer and weather proof. Also there needs to be safer routes to the park instead of muddy routes and bumpy uneven rough stones on the lane entrance.

We use it because it's local but it is a nightmare. It is not fit for purpose and not enough climb on. The area needs an all weather surface.

Can't take my 6 year old to the park due to the mud most of the year due to rain the puddles never dry as we get rain most of the year

The proposed park was a major reason for moving here, the actual park that finally opened a year later than planned is a major disappointment, and totally unusable most of the time

The park has been a disappointment. I feel it’s not safe because it’s not fenced off and there is a brook running along beside it. Dogs run freely in the park and owners do not always clean up after them. The ground is very uneven and dangerous, a toddler could easily twist / sprain / break an ankle. Areas of the park become water logged when it rains.

Firstly it’s pretty appalling to be called a play park, limited equipment fairly well spread out for small children. Plus whoever thought let’s just put all of the equipment on the grass and not suitable flooring needs their head examining. It’s unusable due to the wet ground more than its usable. You take the kids to the park to play on the equipment and come back filthy and wishing you hadn’t bothered in the first place. Plus I believe it should have some kind of perimeter fencing to enclose the play equipment.

Amazing community and love living in Lyde green but the park is a let down. So muddy and unsafe, can easily slip over and need re servicing

The park is of shoddy construction and not fit for purpose. There should be a fence protecting children from dogs and fouling and improved surfaces surrounding the equipmemt.

after waiting 3 years for this park, I was disappointed with the floor (or lack of it) and also the equipment, as really only suitable for young children (under 8s)

I have lived in Lyde Green for. 3 years and awaited this park eagerly!
How disappointed were we that it was repeatedly delayed and then after just one year is showing really poor wear and tear and is virtually unusable when it rains (this is the UK-it rains a lot!)
The consortium has washed its hands and passed the buck to green square but that are not willing to repair or upgrade the site.
Please can we have a proper park for all to use.
