I graduated from BBHHS in 2011 and I am appalled at the high school my little sister is attending. Lunchtime is the period for students to not only nourish themselves for the day, but also to decompress after early mornings. It's disgusting that these students now have to fight for enough time to relax and eat during an almost 8 hour day.

Well to start off, this is very silly system, I today waited in line for a whole 12 minutes to get my lunch, and I had a little time to eat. It doesn't help the fact that TEACHERS (who have 45minute lunches) cut in front of the students in lunch lines. We only have 10 minutes to eat, please at least respect that

I just want to eat my lunch! After all the chaos of putting my instrument away and weaving through the other 284 band kids after practice, I get to lunch a little late! If I'm a little hungrier one day, I don't have time to eat a slightly larger lunch! When students go to the LGI for study hall, we're forced to throw away or scarf down whatever food we might have left. Yesterday in study hall, a senior was forced to throw away the rest of his chips because he didn't have time to finish them during our allowed time in the cafeteria. Lunch is a time to calm down and take a rest from our several AP, honors, electives, and academic classes. They're tiring and a 20 minute break isn't doing us any good. Students also use lunch as a time to complete some homework on a desk that is larger than 10 inches. We want the time we need. Is that really that hard to see Mr. Prebbles?

I have three boys at the high school. They need time to socialize and eat lunch, especially after spending time in the lunch line. I don't see why lunch/study hall can't be more lenient like if was last year. 20 minutes is not enough time to go through the lunch line, eat, and socialize. It's bad enough the Middle School doesn't have recess, and now this. School is about more than academics. It's starting to get out of control. It's amazing how much more competitive it is than when I went 20 years ago. Kids need time to be kids too. They have the rest of their lives to work.

30 minutes would be appropriate. Children need to rest their minds and nourish their bodies. Given at least a five minute lunch line I think it's fair enough come on bbhhs

I'm confused as to why Ohio labor laws require that all people (minors and adults) take a 30 minute break for every 5 hours of work, and an hour long break for every 7 hours of work, yet it is deemed perfectly acceptable in our public schools to work minors for 7 hours and only allow them 20 minutes to rest and eat.

As a parent of a high school student/student, 20 minutes is not enough time to eat a healthy meal that is needed in order to maintain both physical and mental health that these students need throughout an exhausting school day
