When we have 40-45 min lunch we can actually get work done. When it's 20/20 min periods we don't have enough time to get everything out and get good work done

There are zero benefits to this new lunch schedule. I have 7B lunch, and the lunch lines and snacks are closed 10 minutes before the end of the period. That gives me 10 minutes to get to the cafeteria, eat my entire lunch, decide if I'm still hungry, and buy more food. I'm dropping my lunch period because at this point taking another elective would be at least a productive use of 45 minutes, and probably less stressful. When we wrote "lunch" on our schedules, we wanted lunch, not a study hall with a little bit of snacktime.

Students need the proper amount of time to not only eat a healthy meal, but also have time to give the brain some time to relax and to have a break from doing school work. 20 minutes is simply not enough time.

What is the point of having a "study" hall when there is a very ineffective barrier with 100 people socializing on the other side of it? You can not get work done in 20 minutes, and most students would like a quiet environment to learn and collect their thoughts.
As for the 20 minute lunch time, we are kept in school for 7 hours a day with 5 minute increments between classes, and you think 20 minutes is enough time to socialize during our "free time". Good job brecksville

Why try and fix what was not broken.. Think 20mins to line up and then try to quickly eat is probably not healthy in already a busy day! Especially with sports too!

As a former student at BBHHS, I find this new lunch & study hall system to be completely ridiculous and unreaIistic. I support the students in their attempt to pettiton and change the system back to how it used to be and should be. Good luck!
