Austrian Airlines , Swiss Air , Lufthansa decided to make a strange rule.
They make a difference between Pets Traveling to USA than other countries.
They raised the age limit of the Travelling CATS&DOGS to 16 weeks minimum age and do not respect the general rules of the entry to USA from Rabies Free Countries!
The official rules says...
"copy from United Airlines same alliance partner" it seems they know the rules...
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) require all dogs entering the U.S., except those arriving from certain rabies-free countries, to be immunized against rabies. Vaccinations must be completed at least 30 days before arrival in the U.S. Since puppies cannot be vaccinated against rabies before 3 months of age, puppies under 4 months old will not be admitted into the U.S. unless they are arriving from a rabies-free country.
As we can read "except those arriving from certain rabies-free countries"

Besides, THEY have changed the Transport fees:
Example: FRA-LAX 300EUR old price // FRA-LAX 380EUR new price!!!
Fact is that a lot of owners do not want to give the PET in early age a Rabies Vaccination, but they want to travel in young age, as it is better for the PET, to avoid stress.
These Airlines made it easy, they just banned all Cats and Dogs under 16 weeks, no matter where they are coming from to the US!
It is also very interesting that they DO transport to Canada or South Korea (for example 12 Weeks old PETS) and having no issues with this.

Reading the experiences shared in the comments clarifies why these specific airline policies are causing such unintended hardship for families. I am currently working to organize these accounts so the internal teams at these carriers can see the practical consequences of their current age requirements.

Reaching this current level of support demonstrates the widespread frustration with these arbitrary pet travel policies. It is encouraging to see so many people recognize that these rules do not align with official international standards. This momentum confirms that we are asking a fair question of these airlines.

This rule is unfair to owners whom ship larger breeds. They grow quickly and would require a lot larger kennel . A better solution would be to have owners sign a waiver or purchase insurance or better yet allow all pets to fly in cabin reguardless of size with the appropriate number of seats purchased to accommodate the pet. Please reconsider, Thank you
Please, review the "new" rule for travelling pets to USA. The general rules says that dogs from rabies-free countries doesn't have to wait until 16 weeks old. Please, respect that.
12 weeks and rabies shot - as was before! Why ruin millions pets and pets owners life! For extra money.?
Please let us fly puppies in from rabies-free countries. Puppies should be bonding with their new owners before 16 weeks.

Please change this. It is not only a hardship for breeders, but the family receiving the pet, as 2 and 3 month old puppies and kittens bond to their new families more easily without as much attachment to the breeder. They are also smaller and will fit in cabin. They are more easily trained to their new environment. Please show you care and change this to what the US actually requires.
