This petition is to signal to the LSE International Development department that we were unhappy with the level of feedback and engagement over the past year of our MSc.
Please sign this petition if you have completed a MSc programme in the International Development department and would like to express your concern for one or more of the following issues:
- No feedback on final dissertation
- No full breakdown of final results (unless we pay)
- No final results for consultancy reports
- No/little opportunity to get results or feedback on summative essays throughout the year
- No provisional results and no communication from department about receiving final results late.
Our aim is to flag these important issues as a collective body and to express our concerns in order to ensure quality for future LSE MSc students in the International Development department.

I have compiled the specific instances of missing feedback and grade delays into a formal report. This document is currently being prepared for delivery to the Department Head. Expect to see the full list of our grievances and the proposed procedural changes by the end of this week.

I am otherwise quite happy with the level of engagement of the department through the year, but I would really appreciate a detailed feedback on the dissertation. This is not just to understand the assessment better but also to understand where it could have been better. A breakdown of the results would also be helpful.
The lack of feedback during the master thesis is particularly troubling. When you see the support students at Oxbridge get in this regard I do not see why we cannot. Especially for 17,000 pounds.
Receiving feedback for your work is an essential element of education. Therefore, an institution that claims to provide world-class education like the LSE International Development department should place high priority on giving quality feedback.
I was also disappointed by the lack of feedbacks throughout the year regarding the consultancy project and expressed my concerns to Sarah Jane
My problem was the fact that I could not get supervision during the dissertation period.I was not impressed when I could not get any help during the period.

I must agree - feedback should absolutely be engrained within the degree program.
