This is why LPN's move to the other provinces for jobs and Bc can't attract any from other provinces.

The results of this kind of action can be seen in care facilities.Care aides and practicals are not skilled enough to do the job. We have had parents in facilities and are constantly monitoring the care,The top end is so busy making regulations and rules to make work, there is no financing for the job they are monitoring.

LPN's Working in partnership with RN's, to their full scope of practise will not only save the province money on overtime but provides exceptional, safe patient care. Isn't the patient our #1 concern?

Please utilize our LPN's. So we can have proper health care in B.C. Then we will not have a nursing shortage. If some need extra training, then train them.

I'm a retired hospital worker and this was an issue over 20 years ago! When will the BC government wake up and do something to address the problem ?

Difference in scope is minimal, however the cost effectiveness or higher utilization of LPNS in every area of need is a mismanagement of skilled nurses, tax dollars and the publics right to care

As a province you are experiencing a shortage with Rn's. Please explain to me why 12 years ago Rn's were doing a 2 year program and a LPN now is doing 2 Years...but we do not have the skills???? LPN's are part of the team of professionals.. Use our skills to full scope skills... The right nurse the right patient. I. Fact support the LPN's to further their education with bridge in seats and funding...that's practical and not about money. Shame on the universities. We are all nurses. The N in LPN is nurse. Recognize it!!!!

Yes, only in BC LPN's not being utilized, all other provinces use LPN's to their full scope of practice, and you never heard any nursing shortage from these provinces.

I agree there is no reason that LPN's cannot help out the nursing shortage. We are all under the same union so train us and let us use our skill properly!

The public is getting fed up on organizations being run so they ploy to keep the who who's reverence rather then getting the job done for the people they server.
Same happens with out of country doctors who are smarter then ours having to take the total medical programs again rather the honoring their QUALIFICATIONS.
