At The Malling School, we young people have hopes, dreams and fears over what happens to the future of our country. This is why we want elected representatives to listen to us through engaging in debate to lower voting age to 16. Lowering the voting age in UK will mean the elected representatives become our representatives too, so will listen to our needs and how we would like the future of our country to be shaped.

If you're old enough to make the big decision about who to marry you're old enough to vote
Having listened to our students debate this, and discuss the issues so eloquently, there is no doubt in my mind that young people like them should be given the vote.

This is an important debate, and it is integral that those with this side of the argument sign this position and make their voices heard.
Our young pupils feel very passionate about this. They have a voice now let them be heard.

Having taken part in this debate and being politically active myself from the age of sixteen, I believe firmly that young people like me should be given the opportunity to vote.Many adults vote immaturely or squander their vote; despite this the vote is never taken. The young should have the same opportunities. Those that care and wish to engage should not be punished for the ambivalence and immaturity of those who don't. Many adults vote immaturely or squander their vote; the young are no different.
