Too many difficult questions in both papers. All the past papers I've done, I could easily get an A or A* but now when it comes to this year's papers (when it really counts), the papers have a lot of difficult questions. Also questions such as simultaneous equations and tree diagrams doesn't even come up. All the questions were made more complicated than before- e.g- Instead of using either sin, cos or tan to find out a length or angle of a triangle (like in previous papers), there was a question near the middle with 3 triangles joined together and you had to use either sin, cos or tan to find out one of the lengths, but it required a lot of steps. E.g.2- Finding scale factor and either squaring it or cubing it then times or dividing the area of a shape to find the area or volume of another shape (a question in previous papers), but this year there's density's of A and B and they want you to find out the density of C when they give you very little information, plus there is many other examples, but all these hard questions makes it difficult for students to understand and achieve their target grade (and what they deserve for working so hard over the year). Many students make silly mistakes like I have as well but the silly mistakes and the hard questions will cause me and many other students to drop malicious marks. That's why I feel this year's papers grade boundaries should drop massively. Furthermore, I'm sure that many of you agree.

The grade boundaries should be at 23 just like they used to be as the test paper was extremely difficult and therefore this offers a chance for people to progress further in their lives

Way too hard this year, it would be totally unfair to allow high grade boundaries, students weren't prepared for this exam, and this is not their own fault!!

This paper was nothing like the past papers and it annoys me that edexcel didn't at least give us any indication that the exam would be this difficult, as we practiced for this exam by doing past papers. I'm disappointed that we have been screwed over like this and I feel it is unfair for us to do nothing and get terrible grades that alot of us don't deserve.

I was learning from a higher GCSE maths book and I got an A and a B in a past paper I was so happy and thought I would pass, however most of the questions in this paper were too difficult and they were questions we have not been taught or know how to attempt to do it. Despite it being maths and maths is not easy, these questions were too difficult and completely unfair on this year compared to past year.

Appauling to see such question in a gcse maths paper, more likely found in A levels
