We are moving to your community this fall having purchased 1 acre of land. We are a homeschool family and have lived among the Mennonite/Amish communities for many years. We were shocked to learn of the ordinance/prohibition affecting land use to this effect. We think this needs to be changed ASAP and are willing to do whatever we need to do to get involved. And we have our hearts set on a goat too!

i agree there is no harm in raising your chickens for your personal use.as long as you have a bit of land.1 to 2 acres or more should be fine i understand if you live in town .it could be a problem.

I think families who wish to maintain a small chicken flock for their own use are a benefit to our township and our environment!

I agree with faith blough. .25 acre is plenty room for a couple hens.

I think the acerage should be lowered to .25. Responsible farming can be done on small plots and the are plenty of irresponsible farmers on large plots.

The price of eggs going up, but gas prices are low. Hmmmm
People must eat not have to choose.

I support the lowering of acreage to a minimum of 1/4 acre to house chickens and Rabbits.

If he's had them for years and they have been taken care of all this time,it isn't only unfair to this gentleman but to the birds in question to lose their home.it would be tragic all the way around.
