For the 2016-17 school year at Stonecrest Elementary School, newly combined JK/SK classes are as large as 31 students, with only one teacher and one ECE for most of the day (including both lunch and recess.
This is a crucial time in their development. They require and deserve a better teacher:student ratio, especially given the introduction of 50% French immersion this year..
Join me in asking Principal Melanie Buchanan, Superintendent Brett Reynolds, and the Ottawa Carleton District School Board to consider adding a class(es) as needed to reduce the teacher:ratio and give our kids the chance they deserve in order to excel.

My kids might be attending this school in the near future and smaller class sizes would be ideal.
Class sizes need to be smaller.
Please add a class and give the kids the education and the Opportunity to excel.

I have not sent my son to this specific school because of class sizes. It's such a shame :(
