It is not the fact that it was a hard paper, you can not complain about a paper being hard. It is the fact that too many questions were off the spec. Some question read like they were written by someone who knew no chemistry at all. Simply it felt like a dumb paper all round.

My anal tears from the exam have placed me in ICU with copious amount of onion juice.

Ridiculous questions which seemed to no have appeared on the specification or seemed to question our knowledge of CHEM2. Rather than testing our knowledge on CHEM4 I feel like I've been cheated.

Ridiculously difficult in comparison to previous exams. Are AQA intentionally making the exams this year difficult so that next year's results look like an improvement to the system?

This exam was disproportionately difficult. Not because of the application questions or even question 9, which were difficult, but because of the horrible questions worth few marks that too long, leading to the last half being rushed and NO opportunity to check through, which you (AQA) yourselves advise us to do, then don't allow us to. I noticed immediately it was dodgy, as the timing reccomended was 80 minutes for section A and 25 minutes for section B. Truly ridiculous AQA - your choice of questioning will have devestating consequences on the futures of many young people, and definitely did not reward hard work or revision, or even merit knowledge of the A level Chemistry specification.

My daughter has worked 10 hours a day solidly for 2 years for this exam only to be hit with such impossibly difficult questions which don't test her knowledge of the curriculum. She wants to study medicine and needs the A that she has worked for - that she deserves. Very concerned Mum.
