This is diabolical, our government is destroying young peoples futures by these embarassing excuses for national exams - setting them up to fail rather than building there futures. A disgrace.

That CHEM4 exam was horrendous! I did every past paper possible and I felt I shouldn't have bothered. I feel my aspirations of going to uni to study Medical Science have been completely and utterly destroyed!

Chemistry is by far one of the hardest A-Level subjects, and the skill-level, and strict timing required for this paper far superceded that present in all past examinations in the last 10 years. This was no test of true knowledge and understanding; merely convoluted application.

AQA have ruined my life. I will probably miss my Cambridge offer because of this exam. Both my parents were refugees, they fought to give me opportunities, and I've fought tirelessly to make the most of them. Now it looks like I won't even be going to university as I don't really have an insurance offer. This exam was nothing short of ridiculous.

Insufficient timing, too many application questions, different structure to all other past papers, exam content vaguely related to spec, unfair comparison between years.

My daughter left this exam yesterday ready to throw in the towel, it was the last thing she needed - chemistry is hard enough, absolutely no need to make it impossible

This exam was extremely disproportionate and unrepresentative of the content, and specification as a whole, when compared to papers from previous years.

First of all, the fact that this country does not have one standard exam for everybody is ridiculous. For A level students especially, when there are different exam boards making papers harder or easier each year, different students come out with different grades.... How can this even be fair when we apply to universities? Some of us with easier exams are more likely to get the grades required, whilst other might have fallen short just because their exam boards made the exams harder! I know I couldn't have been any better prepared for the CHEM4 exam this year - I went into the exam feeling very confident, and so did many others. But seeing how the exam actually went yesterday, now my lifetime dream of doing medicine at university all of a sudden seems far out of reach. All that time and dedication I put into building this future flushed away by one exam (and perhaps more to come from AQA).
AQA you better not be our dream-crushers this year...You better lower those grade boundaries!!!
