A city without retail diversity is a boring city lacking in dynamism and interest. Markets are platforms to experiment and showcase new products. Markets also create opportunities for a fusion between artisans and unique city culture, this has so many soon offshoots & benefits (tourism, business, social networking and integration etc). I fully support the Dublin Flea Market campaign.

Flea markets intrinsic part of the capital’s originality and vital in supporting and nurturing new and small business. Closure of Dublin 8 markets has devastated local community and has been replaced with infrastructure designed to erode local networks while encouraging transient corporate businesses.
