This is a valid cause that needs as much support as possible!! Please shop local to help the local economy, consumerism is destroying the world.

Developers and Planners please don’t put short term profit above the long term health of communities. It makes no sense to destroy markets which are the hub of any community. Without markets our cities will die.

I live beside Newmarket and we still mourn the loss of the markets that brought so much life to our area

Markets are an essential breeding ground for start up and early stage businesses. Risk takers face significant challenges - let's do what we can to help these national treasures

Dublin City has a proud market tradition and many cities increase tourism because of their markets. It’s literally the easiest thing ever stop being unhelpful and let markets happen!

As a vendor at a lessening number of markets around the city, I believe that it is vital that we fight to keep our creative spaces open, as without the creative community, the world would be a very dull place indeed.

Stop closing markets down. They’re a great place to support local people

We should be increasing the number of markets, not reducing them! They form a vital life-blood to any city.

I strongly believe that a a healthy , thriving market scene is essential for any City. Dublin is behind Europe in this and In face lagging behind Cork, Galway and Limerick.

Small handmade businesses could not compete or survive without markets. Markets provide a buzz and sense of community and connection - people buying from people rather than large faceless corporations. Markets are an integral part of lots of European cities and this community should not be allowed to die in Dublin.

Markets are a tie to the old ways of selling and buying and are valued by people who love to browse, touch and feel often homemade wares and things they just won't get in the shops. Please protect markets and give spaces to make sure they continue.

I love the markets and so do my daughters so please do not close them and block small traders from making a living
