Markets are such an important and valuable resource to towns and cities- all around the world markets are places that locals and visitors flock to and create a wonderful center for New and small businesses and makers to thrive. It’s a disgrace that Dublin does not seem to support the life blood that is independent markets!

The city needs the vibrancy of the unexpected little treasures. Otherwise we are just left with the generic high street that you find in every city.

It is undoubtedly a shame our markets are all shutting down. Dublin and other cities and towns around the country rely on these markets. They are part of our heritage and something that should never be lost or fogotten. We need to find new spaces/places for these essential historical hubs where people from everywhere get together to enjoy old and new, craft and artisian foods. It's shameful and has to stop. #Loveyourmarkets

These types of markets can truly bring a community together and help artists not only support themselves but also bring uniqueness to Ireland. Additionally, this also provides those of limited means to still find something unique and made with love for those they care for without having to worry about paying the bills at the end of the day

We need and love our Markets. The greater public, our customers, adore attending Markets. The lure of the bargain, and wiling away the time browsing is what appeals to us all. Such a healthy alternative to retail parks !

Whats a city with markets? Our last link with community is being rapidly stripped away. Dublin needs more authentic, creative and grass roots spaces

For centuries cities throughout the world have and still have established markets, and are critical to the city's image. The sights, sounds the atmosphere and the products on sale are what makes a great market and a great city so sign the petition and love your markets

Everywhere in Europe and around the world markets are one of the huge attractions. We have the fewest and yet we have a huge population of creative makers and gatherers who need this forum and also a nation of market lovers. It is a shame that its something we need to petition for but here we go

We love our markets! Markets are incredibly important to small businesses which are the life blood of any city. They are an important livelihood strategy and need public policy to protect and reflect this. Please do what ever possible to save our markets!

As a trader the markets are incredibly important not only to make a living but to trial new products, promote our businesses and interact with our customers. Right now its like we're turning up to work but our office has gone missing.

Please amend the Dublin City Development Plan to include policies which value, protect and nurture indoor and outdoor markets of all types. It is invaluable to small business and our community.
