Shame on your school, but kudos to you for handling this situation with maturity and grace. Don't give anyone the power to make you feel ashamed of who you are.

I had a similar experience at my Christian high school after leading a panel about LGBT issues. 15 years later, and students there are working to form Gay-Straight Alliances and rallying for acceptance in the school and church. It all starts with one step at a time - good job taking the first one!

It is hard enough growing up in today's world being true to who you are and doing what you need to be happy. It's absolutely unfortunate and completely unacceptable for schools to make decisions such as this when they should be supporting the growth and acceptance of our youth. Shame on you Providence.

It is very disappointing to once again read about Christians treating people with disrespect, and blatant disregard for a persons feelings. I'm quite sure this is not what Jesus would have us do.

Be who God made you not who they say God meant to make you. No one speaks for God but God. Amen.

The school board should be replaced by people who understand that this kind of behavior is unacceptable and un-American and un-Christian.
