As a Grandparent of a Providence student, I am saddened and disappointed by this unchristian action against Bryce. This demonstrates bigotry and discrimination instead of the love and acceptance I would have expected at Providence.

Kevin, we appreciate you supporting our classmate Bryce. Just want to let you know Prov is an Evangelical Christian school. Not Catholic. After all Pope Francis himself said " Who am I to judge? " about this issue. I think he would be appalled by Prov's treatment of a kind smart young man like Bryce.

As a member of the gay community, it astonishes me ro see such events as this, in that events like this are what my parents were afraid of me experiencing at schools such as providence. I was supposed to attend Providence, but as a homosexual, my parents saw it as a danger zone for me to enter. It hurts my heart to hear such a story to be occuring in such a "prestigious" school and "catholic-based" establishment. It is sad to see such discrimination occuring in places like Providence, while in other catholic-based places there is no such discrimination. I may not know Bryce personally, but based on what has been said by others on this petition, i am sure he is a great person and that if they choose to exclude him from such event, providence is the one at a loss because they are the ones not letting such an amazing person not be a part of their eatablishment. You are such a brave person Bryce and you are standing up, not only for yourself, but for the many homosexuals that are in Providence, that are scared to speak up. Trust me, you are not alone! #GayPrideUnite

Bryce is an amazing kid and has done so much for Providence. It is ludicrous to think that such an influential person could be asked to not come back to school.

As a Providence parent and a strong Christian I am outraged by the behavior of the school. Mark 12:31 clearly says "Love your neighbor as you love yourself. No other commandment is greater than these." A Christian school should be a place that emulates the Bible. Would this harsh reaction come if a child envied their neighbor or did not honor their mother and father? These are clear commandments. And Mark 12:31 is a clear commandment as well. Providence should be the most loving place a student encounters on a daily basis.

As Bryce's older brother, and a former student athlete and alumni at Providence, I am at a loss for words. As Bryce's brother and biggest supporter I would like to thank everyone who has supported Bryce through this issue just as myself and my family have been doing! I means so much to our family and especially Bryce that he has so many loving and caring people backing him as he goes through this unnecessary bullying and discrimination from those involved in this issue at Providence. How can a school that prides themselves on being "Boldly Christian" act so cowardly towards a recent alumni who did nothing to harm the school in any fashion and has only done wonderful things at Providence? God does not choose who he loves and does not love some more than others. Before Bryce announced he was gay on Twitter, I loved him more than I can put into words. After he announced and made it public, I realized that not only did I love him more than I can imagine, but how inspiring he is not only to his friends, parents, and teachers; but also to his big brother. Bryce has done something that most people only can dream of doing which is coming out and being upfront and honest. Bryce has been BOLD and done things with CONVICTION. Bryce has a long road ahead of him and the more love and support he can gain the easier it will be for him as he moves on to college and the rest of his life. Again, THANK YOU to all who have been by his side!

Why don't we start showing love like God has encouraged us to do instead of discriminating others just because someone has a sexual preference other than the same as yours.

Ive gone to providence for basically my whole entire life. It pains me to see people who call themselves christians treat a person so unkindly. I fully support everyone in the LGBT community.
