Lust is a 7 year old Pit bull that has been held by Animal Control since June 2013. We have been fighting for her freedom ever since. She has not been given any behavioral evaluation of any kind since taken into custody but instead deemed dangerous and sentenced to death. Even after being told that we would get her back Animal Control changed their mind without any reasoning. Please sign my petition to get her out! With all the other dogs that get a second chance Lust deserves one too!!
Lust was taken out for a walk without the consent of my ex by his brother when he was intoxicated. he let her off the leash and she came in contact with another dog and killed it. In the 5 years she was in my care I never let her off the leash because of the leash law, AND because of her breed and the stigma of pit bulls. when she was taken into custody we were told we would get her back with provisions of her ALWAYS wearing a muzzle when being walked outside. but Animal Control was bombarded by emails from others not even live in the same community due to an online article that was published. They had already sent us paper work stating that we would get her back and then 2 days later they changed their minds..without reason! She has NEVER had a behavioral evaluation to deem her extremely dangerous but instead sentenced her to death. She has NEVER been aggressive towards humans, even babies. But like some larger dogs, she only enjoys the company of other large dogs. She has lived with 2 other animals in the home and plays and socializes just fine. This was a tragic accident that happened in the hands of an irresponsible human. In the 5 years before this we never have taken her off the leash off property, nor have we allowed her to be in situations she is not familiar with, such as with smaller animals.. We will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING when we get her back to keep her and others safe; training, muzzle, fencing. Again this was her first incident and if given the chance it would be her last! we just want her to have a second chance because that day it was not our fault it was the fault of a human that caused the situation. The only fault of hers is being a pit bull.. Thank you.
