Common core really need to come out of the schools. My little boy having a hard time in 1st grade Reading and Writing . It need to go back to old school with our little ones.

Common Core is the end game of the 100+ years of sabotage of American education to PURPOSELY dumb us down. Therefore, ridding ourselves of the cancer that is Common Core is only the first step in reversing the Deliberate Dumbing Down of America to re-establish excellence in American education; reclaim our American heritage; and restore our sovereignty, freedoms, and exceptionalism. I've read samples of Common Core material. I believe Common Core is backed more by political indoctrination than by doing what is best for the children.

I have a friend whose child maintained a constant 4.0 grade score in Parochial school. But now that she has had to attend public school her lazy educators are in capable of educating. Don't change the system, hire people who are better equipped to educate.

I am a retired teacher of New Orleans Public Schools, and after researching and reading Common Core, it is nothing but a controlled educational system with socialistic planning and consequences. The government is trying to take control of children, and parents need to make every effort to stop Common Core. Young minds need to be challenged and not controlled.

The English/reading curriculum is so bad, I can't imagine who wrote it. If I think "huh?" to some of the test questions, I know my 4th grader is lost... what were they thinking?

I find myself teaching my children when they get home already. Not only would common core confuse my children even more, I would have to re-educate myself as well. I find I have above average intelligence and the standards are confusing enough for our students. Stop taking steps backward. Our schools are losing the few GOOD teachers because of this already.
