I've been spending several hour helping my 2nd and 4th grader to understand their homework since Common core begin. The math has to many variable and if one step is wrong the answer is wrong. Reading has it"s challenges. Last year's read is this years advanced comprehension. This shouldn"t be about money for business profitting off our children's education. It's about our children's future.

This stuff is ridiculous, takes you 10 times longer to get through 1 problem. There was nothing wrong with the way of teachings, it been done for decades! It makes no sense to change the way people grew up learning! For what reason do we need this who does it benefit no one but the government! Get this mess out before it ruins our future

It's really hard and fustrating to help Ur child with homework when we have no clue how to answer such. 2+2=4 2x2=4 basic simple and less paper wasted.that was the answer since beginning of math work and it will be the answer til the end of time. Why make it so complicating. PLEASE END COMMON CORE & PLEASE SAVE CONCERNED PARENTS FROM NERVOUS BREAKDOWNS AND MEDICATIONS. THANKS!

I hate Common Core with a passion. I have kids that never had problems like they do now. It's sad to see my kids who once loved school beg not to go.

I graduated in 1991 with 3.7 GPA, so I did fairly well in school. Algebra and geometry were my strongest courses. When I sit with my 12 year old daughter to help her with homework everything is different . She is struggling with the common core method of doing her math homework and she is only in the seventh grade. She understands the problem and can figure out the correct answer in one or two steps, but the way the teacher makes them solve the problems evolve an extra 3 or 4 steps that really makes it more complicated than it needs to be... so common core is just making it harder on the children , and it's already hard enough growing up in today's society so I ask you should we be making it even harder for them?

As an elementary teacher of 18 years and a parent of 4 school-aged children, I have NEVER experienced an educational initiative as detrimental to our children's education (CCSS in conjunction with the PARCC tests). A call to action to all parents, grandparents and concerned citizens is needed to return education to the local control of our state. Please do your part to help save the future of public schools.

My head is spinning after trying to help my daughter with Common Core math---absolutely absurd the methods used to do simple addition and subtraction. It' s fired me up! Where do they come up with this nonsense? I feel like she's actually being hurt academically.

This needs to stop. I am a grandmother raising a special needs child with learning disability and I can not help him with his homework. No child left behind well my child is lost. Please help get this stopped.

Why send something home people do not understand.? What is wrong with the old way? People do not have money to go back to school to learn how to do this to be able to help their child with their homework. It is STUPID! I will be sending it back to school incomplete with a? mark because I cannot help my child and the teachers do not spend enough time on the types of problems they are sending home with them for them to understand it.

This Common Core does not make any sense. If they want to teach the work this way then they need to pay for parents to go to school so they can help their children with their homework or they can pay for tutors to help our children with their homework. Some parents are unable to do this type of work. I can get to the same answer faster using the standard method we have used since the beginning of time. Please get rid of Common Core!

I pray this is successfully scrapped!!! I am totally against it!! The government has its crubby hands in too many of our lives as it is and now they want our children too!! Unacceptable! Fight and pray hard against this!!!

Something causing this much trouble should be looked at in a more detailed manner. BESE need to monitor the state districts and learn where the problems are and fix them.
