I am submitting this because I have Grandchildren in school that are suffering from this Common Core program as well as other children. How can it be helpful to the children, when it causes such upset and loss of self esteem, and highly educated parents are hardly able to figure out this lessons. Please get this overturned for the sake of our precious children.

And my children have lap tops and not books so I am totally lost when they have issues with home work. My son has autism an just getting him to catch on to the old way was hard enough

common Core is designed to take education out of the hands of our state. The children are being set up for failure rather than success. Teachers are just as baffled as the children and parents. What's behind the big picture is what most failed to see. Its a way to dictate ton the thought process of children. There is a cat on the other end of the line and it has nothing to with academics. Beware parents and teachers. We should be rallying around our governor on this one. The dollar bill is another factor in Common Core. Too common to detect what is in the Cor

We went from A-B Honor Roll every year to D's and F's....AND My child's teacher quit. This has to stop!

my son who always had straight A's, now has C's in math. how do teachers expect us to teach/ help our children with homework when we don't understand it ourselves!! they don't send home text books, they send home worksheets & it doesn't even help you understand how to do the problems.

It is amazing that once an 'A' student that now my daughter is a 'D' or 'C' student. She has always been able to memorize just about everything and excel above the other classmates. Common Core math has completely messed up the mental abilities of children by reversing their thought process into the wrong direction.

i'm currently enrolled at a university. my math professors can't make head or tails out of my 3rd graders math. it's confusing and disorganized. there is no rhythm to the learning path and no room for error is provided. either you figure it out for yourself or fail. that's a lot for a 8 year old to put on their shoulders.

The conception that "all children learn the same" is not only ludicrous; but damaging to our children. I have twin girls that are currently in 3rd grade (with possible learning disabilities), who have issues every single day because of Common Core Standards. I am dyslexic but attended a Magnet School, so I am of above average intelligence. Sometimes I have to look at this CRAP and try to figure out what my children are supposed to do. I want to just wave my hands in the air in frustration, so imagine what my 3rd graders are doing every single day!!!
COMMON CORE NEEDS TO DISAPPEAR! If OBAMA wants these standards, then perhaps HIS children should adhere to those same standards in a public school setting!!!
