Just let us use waterways that have a tidal flow , no getting off on the land just stay in the boat.

The natural resources that are in the canals water channel are property of the state and its citizens. If the canal is private property then it should have a dirt levee at each end. if all the marsh area in south Louisiana is private, why should the tax payers money go toward "marsh protection"? If the state and or parish maintains, or spends money on a road then it becomes public access. the same should apply to the water ways going thru private property.

Fishing has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a small child. My grandfather, my dad, and myself would fish just about every weekend, on these fishing trips I learned many valuable life lessons from listening to my dad and grandfather talk.
I have my own famy now and bring them fishing in hopes to build memories and instill good family values into my child's life. We fish bayou black area and most of our fishing spots are being gated off also, Crawford canal, Lake Teriot. 70 mile
Canal "posted signs", and now talks of orange grove. It seems like in the future, if nothing changes, the only memories we be able to make is riding the intercostal talking about when we use to fish. If these canals are private, shouldn't the owners be responsible for the erosion these canals created? Life in south Louisiana is changing as we know it.

Louisiana "The Sportsman's Paradise" is the Only state in the union that has laws restricting public use of navagable waterways!
For Once, let's do the right thing!

Water that flows through those canals belong to the State of La. As a citizen, I should be able to follow / navigate those waters. Leave the water and enter the land - no - that land I consider privately owned. Lets call upon our newly elected Governor to do the right thing and hear our voices.

Remove the gates and let us fish. If you are going to gate the canals; dam them up and remove all of the fish that belong to the public.

My entire family had 8 camps and we as kids grew up on Lake Verret...fished all the canals...now we can't... Just doesn't seem right...typical money & politics at work???

I vote to keep all bayous and canals open to the public. It sure is wonderful to be out on the water. Very relaxing.
