I feel that if a land owner wants to make a canal private, it should be dammed off(at owners expense) as not to allow the tide to flow in and out. I think if the tide is flowing in and out it should be public. I think the state should start looking at the true value off these private canals when it comes time to asses property values.

The State needs to work out something with the marsh owners.... like a no-fault liability law for no law suits if an accident occurs in a canal or something. Also, any marsh owner who opens canals to the public will get a tax break on this tract. The state must have something in it for the marsh owner, or they will use their power in the legislature to crush it, like always.

Remove all gates on water ways. Landowners do not own the water.

We are being robbed of access to public waters and have been for yrs. natural bodies of water are being blocked by landowners illegally.either the state or federal government needs to step up and resolve this matter once and for all not just special interest groups. All citizens should have access to(Public) waters.

We shouldn't block off canals that connect to public water ways, just because someone owns the land around it. If they want to block it off, build a levee and pump all the water out into the public waterway and put the fish back in the public water way. This is crazy. Land owners own land, not water.
