We need to call our state representative and Parish President Gordon Dove to help us fight closing off all these canals. I don't want to go in the marsh just the canals where water flows freely with the tide. I the so called land owner wants the canal blocked he should build a levee across the canals at his expense so that natural tidal movement is stopped. How much more will we have to give up????????

It's a cryin shame & pathetic that lafourche parish don't have a full blown youth center with a full staff 24/7,I guess the ones with a little money are ONLY worried about making more money for themselves, I almost certain it is called GREED.

I've been putting up with this BS for at least 40 years and it keeps getting worse every year waters I grew up fishing that weren't private are now closed and the law is on their side because they bring the judges hunting and fishing so it's a no win situation I know I don't have the funds to fight them in court it's really sad and something has to be done !

Never understood how somebody who leases property in South Louisiana could simply throw up a gate on a natural body of water. Yes, they have to carry liability insurance, but that is mostly for fire, and the hunters (mostly) that they allow onto their leased property. If you own it, may be a different story. I mean.......What's a guy in a boat teaching his kids to love the sport going to hurt?

Water ways need to remain navigable to sport fisherman. Landowners should not dictate control of tidal waterways
