We have more people fishing and we lose more fishing waters every year due to gated canals. Enough is enough.!!

To my knowledge, this is the only state that allows this to happen.

We should be able to fish canals. It's very childish to put gates up in canals where people fish. Everyone should be able to enjoy what the basin has to offer

If it's tidal, keep it open. Plain and simple.

how is this canal blocked off with a natural bayou at the end of it leading to belle river, I have been fishing this canal since young with a lot of great memories. Louisiana supposed to be a great place to fish, now its turning into you have to have a key or know somebody, there are other great canals that have been blocked off by the hunting clubs around this area. they need to make this right in order for my children and future generations have the same great experience.

If this is private water, put up a dam, pump out all the public water and public fish, fill it with your own water and fish.... or let us fish the navigable water.

I never liked the idea of digging canals and then blocking people out. It becomes a navigable waterway. Who ever has to use a navigable water way to gain access to where there going to put the canal and then to block it off doesn't seem right.
