All canals should be left open to help water flow. Most canal that are gated get plugged with grass

I have been wanting to organize to fight the gates. Thanks for starting this. I'm tired of trying to answer my grandsons questions as to why we can't fish where we used to. I will help in any way I can . . .This would also include the marsh ponds. At the rate we arelosing land , it will all be open water anyway. At the present rate of canals being gated off, we will only be able to fish the intracoastal waterway and the atchafalaya river ! ! !

Canals connected to public waterways benefit from that connection as a fishery. The waterways should be open for public fishing.

This is a plague that must be stopped!!! Seeing canals gated or dammed off in the Bayou Gauche and Des Allemands area. This needs to stop.

I believe all watered connected to navigable waterways should be state own as well as all tidal influenced waterways.
