This shouldn’t still be happening. My mother suffered from similar abuse after my sisters death in the 60’s. x

'Free press' should not mean that the press is free to say whatever it wants with impunity.

The mother should come first, not the Press.

I believe strongly in this petition. I do not have a child of my own but have had friends who have lost their babies to cot death. It is an excruciatingly painful and sad period and I believe that protection is needed until there is proof of foul play.

Press regulation is much needed in this country. Hiding behind an argument of free speech and complete freedom of press excuses the lack of self regulation and moral free gutter press behaviour. The press have had every opportunity to abide by their own codes and practices but this is totally ineffective,. Innocent members of the public need confidence and security by having some degree of protection too.

We lost a grandchild to SIDS. Families need support not allegations made by the press.

I also lost my baby son to SIDS and know how difficult the grief is. The abuse your family suffered is appalling so I support your campaign wholeheartedly.

Changes must be made - and I say that as a journalist. When my brother died from SIDS the media reporting led to all sorts of unfounded gossip and attention. It's the last thing grieving parents need.

Cannot believe they get away with this, they could have ruined several lives and left children without a mother! Stay strong Holly.

Prevent the press and help the family

The media keeps on writing these kind of biased articles whith headlines and phrases suggesting scenarios that are untrue and that may be quite damaging to those involved. All to increase there sales. It needs regulation.
