LoopNet increased my subscription rate 70%. I have been a member with 20 listings for some 9+ years. This is not how you treat loyal clients. They should never allowed CoStar to purchase LoopNet.

I cannot believe that the Government allows a business to have a monopoly over the commercial industry marketing. From being able to once have a free Loopnet account to move commercial listings to having to pay $299.00 per month for unlimited Commercial Listings to now the price increases reaching far beyond what is affordable should be outlawed. Costar has a monopoly on the industry as of right now since Xceligent went bakrupt. Costar being the avenue for "brokers" to pay for their service to research properties, do comp reports, and try and find commercial properties for their clients. Loopnet being the only commercial avenue directed for the General public to research locations for their new business or investors looking to purchase properties. They make you pay for premium and above status if you even want your listing to be showcased on their site. There are many property owners where the potential commissions are far less than what it costs to even market the space so in the end, we are not ahead as brokers and sometimes even under water further if we marketed a space on there a couple months in search for a tenant and our commission turns out to be only $500.00. This avenue is only limiting itself to properties that have top dollar commission price trags affiliated with them to even be worth marketing on their site. Someone out there has to come up with a better alternative marketing platform for commercial brokers to post listings on so that we can be able to be more prosoperous in our futures. Let's all put a stop to this Monopoly that Costar/Loopnet have created and would love to see them out of business for their scamming tactics and robbery.

Once their bottom line gets worse, they will come down on price. It is better to get little of many than lot of few.

I have been a subscriber for as long as Loopnet has existed. Between Loopnet and Costar and their lousy price gouging, I am now actively looking for an alternative.

I have not done one deal from a LoopNet inquiry. The service appeals to tenant prospects who tend to be inexperienced business operators with business concepts that are unable to support market rents and are often completely unqualified financially. Unfortunately, Landlords are under the impression LoopNet is the holy grail of tenant prospecting. At the end of the day you have to hit the streets and talk to people to know what is happening in your market and then be able to leverage that information, aka Relationship Building. LoopNet is short cut to no where.
